School

The program for the Education Concert Series includes performances of works by Giacomo Rossini, Beethoven, Schubert, and more. The Friday Favorites Concerts Series offers groups afternoon performances of pieces like Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony and Smetana’s The Moldau from My Homeland. Students can also have fun trying out string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments in the Instrument Zoo before shows. Open rehearsals with Q&A sessions are available at no charge to educators and school groups in grades 6th and up, allowing students to see how the conductor and the orchestra polish pieces of music. Advance reservations are required.

Scouts

Catch a performance at the North Carolina Symphony with your scouts to begin working on Music badge requirements. Scouts will enjoy pops, classical music, and more. During Instrument Zoos, scouts can try string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments before concerts. Scouts are also welcome to attend the symphony’s special event concerts on select Friday and Saturday evenings. Reservations are required.

Camp

Summer camp groups will have a great time listening to pops, classical, and more performed by the North Carolina Symphony. The symphony’s Summerfest at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre will delight campers with activities such as trying instruments in the Instrument Zoo, picnics, and of course, classical masterworks performances. Campers under age 12 are admitted to Summerfest for free. Camp groups can also attend Friday Favorites on Friday afternoons at the symphony.
