Blue Hills Ski Area

Visit the highest land on the Atlantic Coast from Boston to the Florida Keys! Students and scouts can speed down 60-acres of trails with a vertical drop of 309-feet at the Blue Hills Ski Area. To start, groups may take a 75-minute lesson to get the basics down before hopping on a lift to get to the top of the mountain. To enrich the visit, why not discuss the historical and scientific significance of the mountain? Because of the height of the mountain, it was used as a military look out during the Revolutionary War, and today there is a meteorological observatory built in 1885 that is still used today.
