Black Dog Tall Ships

The Black Dog Tall Ships affords island children the opportunity to experience the rich maritime history of their home and to learn skills that, a century ago, children would have been well versed in. Aboard one of the ships, groups will learn about life on the sea, learn to sail the ship through active participation, sing sea shanties, and keep the decks in ship shape! Lessons will incorporate subjects like social studies, math, science, language arts, music, and art. This once in a lifetime opportunity will show groups the natural gifts and resources afforded to them living in Martha’s Vineyard.
