Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site

Be inspired by the power of the place at the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site, the former home of 19th-century American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Groups can tour Aspet, his home, with three rooms decorated with original furnishings. Students and scouts may like to sketch or write in the garden, using the sculpture and artwork throughout as inspiration. Guided tours and discussion can focus on topics like Greek and Roman antiquities, Civil War and the monuments Saint-Gaudens made to commemorate the war, and sculpture, focusing on the artist and the process that goes into make sculpture. Other topics that may be studied include natural history and architecture.
