Green Curriculum

The NYC Department of Education Office of Sustainability’s Green Curriculum provides resources for educators to integrate environmental service learning in the classroom. Groups can participate in service learning activities from CELF, the Green Education Foundation, or Solar One. CELF helps educators incorporate sustainability awareness through hands-on learning opportunities such as food waste composting programs and starting an organic garden. The Green Education Foundation offers themed sustainability lessons, activities, recommended reading, and more for educators to teach students about topics like recycling and sustainable transportation. Solar One’s Green Design Lab and Clean Tech programs focus on green technology and help inspire careers in STEM through hands-on learning.
