Blue Heron Nature Preserve

The Blue Heron Nature Preserve offers an excellent opportunity for students and scouts to discover nature in fun and creative ways. Learners will have the opportunity to start a seed collection, paint a clay pot, and plant seeds. Study creatures like monarch butterflies, honeybees, insects, and worms. Participate in a nest making experience, dissect an owl pellet, and take a scientist’s look at native mushrooms, make a mushroom habitat, and create one from clay! Groups may also exercise their problem solving skills by building a fort- they’ll have so much fun they won’t even realize they’re learning about the land!
