Woodburn and Ashtabula

Woodburn and Ashtabula were plantation houses passed from owner to owner throughout the 19th and 20th centuries before falling into the care of the Pendleton Historic Foundation in the 1960s. Groups will be led by a costumed interpreter through one of the houses, where they will partake in a variety of activities. Learn lessons in an 1830s classroom, spin and weave a school wall hanging, write with a quill, and more activities are available to visitors. Play 19th-century parlor games, learn about Native American trading practices, visit the herb garden and make a sachet, and other activities will help learners compare life from the 1800s to today.
