Main Street Children’s Museum

Imagination reigns at the Main Street Children’s Museum offering fun, educational activities in Old Town Rock Hill. Children can make-believe in the pumpkin house, climb to the tip-top of the tree house and sail on the magic ship, enjoy memory-making experiences and engage in creative, developmental play. Main Street Children’s Museum is inspired by the artwork of American illustrator Vernon Grant, who lived and worked in Rock Hill.

The first children’s museum in the world was the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, founded in 1899. Hundreds of children’s museums have opened in the United States since then. As of 2007, the Association of Children’s Museums estimated that there were approximately 80 children’s museums in development alone.
