Museum of York County

This museum highlights the natural history of the Carolina Piedmont and its connections with the rest of the world. The permanent exhibit’s dioramas depict Piedmont landscapes as they were 600 years ago, and wildlife like bison, elk, and deer. Other displays show how native people lived off the land and its natural resources. In addition to guided tours, students can have a hands-on lab class. These classes give them ways of learning about animal characteristics, Earth materials, and geology. This museum also features the artwork of Vernon Grant, illustrator; planetarium shows; and the Tot Town play area. Scout programs available.
