Clagett Farm

Clagett Farm provides a land-based program that fosters in-depth discussions about agriculture's impact on the watershed. Exploring the farm by foot and hay wagon, or canoeing on the nearby Patuxent River, students gain true awareness of environmental issues, to sharpen critical thinking skills, and to practice problem solving. CBF's Clagett Farm Program has the "DC Farm to School Stamp of Approval". This stamp has been given to F2S field program sites that actively engage students in hands-on learning, expose students to a wide variety of plant and animal species, serve as an extension of the classroom, and draw the connection between plants on the farm and food on our plates.
