Red Wiggler Community Farm

Located in northern Montgomery County, Red Wiggler Community Farm creates fertile ground to nourish a healthy and inclusive community. Particularly in the spring, summer, and fall, students will be able to observe all the hard work that goes into planting, harvesting, and caring for the vegetables and land. The Educational Tour discusses sustainable growing practices and Red Wiggler’s social mission with a chance to either plant, harvest or taste a vegetable or herb grown in the fields and a hands on activity catered to your groups' interests. The Basic Tour offers a complete tour of the farm including the fields, green house, beehives and solar house. The farm mission, programs, sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship are discussed. Service Learning Visits include a tour and an hour of service. The Service Visit gives a brief introduction to the farm and the remainder of the time is spent volunteering in the fields.
