Old Baldy

Old Baldy Island is only accessible by boat- so hop aboard! Once students and scouts step off the ferry, they will see Old Baldy, and in only 5 minutes, they could be on their way up the 108 steps (plus a ship’s ladder) to the very top to get the best view on the island. The Smith Island Museum is housed in the Keeper’s Cottage, an authentic recreation of an 1850’s house. There, they will learn all about lighthouse keepers, pirates, surf men, and maritime history.
