Howard B. Owens Science Center

Howard B. Owens Science Center features the Challenger Learning Center, a 170-seat planetarium, nature trail, live animal exhibit, computer lab, and several science labs and classrooms. Students can participate in a variety of programs at the Center on topics including bioenergetics, forensics, rockets and many more! On a Challenger simulated virtual mission, designed for grade 6 through 8, students will be assigned to working stations and learn the variety of jobs performed in mission control and on a space craft. Planetarium programs range from identifying simple shapes in the sky to determining the angles between the Sun and the Moon for the various moon phases.
