Wilkes Heritage Museum

Located in what used to be the 1902 Wilkes County Courthouse, Wilkes Heritage Museum is sure to give your students, scouts, homeschoolers, and campers a historic cultural experience they will never forget. Established in 1968, the museum’s mission is to preserve the Wilkes County’s history. Exhibits at the museum focus on a variety of subjects including art, history, music, business, and industry. On tours, groups will see several historic buildings from the 1800s and 1900s, including the courthouse. Guided and self-guided tours are available for groups. The museum also offers seasonal Candlelight Ghost Tours
