New York State

Fort Delaware Museum of Colonial History

The museum depicts the lives and lifestyles of hardy Yankees who settled in the region in the 1700s, paying homage to their place in the history of New York and their role in America’s War for Independence. Groups will interact with costumed interpreters who demonstrate and discuss the lifestyle and survival skills of the settlers. See demonstrations of farming, fishing, blacksmithing, candle-making, spinning and weaving, education, music, homekeeping, and the firing of an authentic 2-pound cannon!
