Burlington Fish Hatchery

Burlington Fish Hatchery produces 80,000 pounds of trout annually! It houses all stages of development for brown and rainbow trout, from incubation and hatching in the Hatchery House, to raising them in the Nursery Pools, until finally the fish are large enough to transfer to rearing and production ponds, where they await transfer to Connecticut’s lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. Groups can engage in tours where they can learn all about the various stages of trout development. There is also a short nature trail with labeled trees, plants and flowers where visitors can learn about the history of each species.
