Randall's Island Salt Marsh & Freshwater Wetlands

Explore Randall’s Island Salt Marsh and Freshwater Wetlands through the Waterfront Stewardship Program with guided tours that focus on the birds, insects, wildlife species, and the ecology wetland and coastal areas. Using magnifying glasses, binoculars, fishnets, and traps, your group will investigate the many animals and plants that call Randall’s Island home. They will get up close and personal with fish, crabs, snails, insects, oysters, and plants, gaining knowledge of how a marsh functions. Check website for specific field trip themes. Groups can also volunteer to help care and preserve Randall's Island Park.
