Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie

The Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie is a 32-acre remnant of the tallgrass prairie that once stretched for millions of square miles across much of North America. Here students can experience what northern Illinois was like during pre-settlement conditions, and view native vegetation up close through teaching gardens and walking paths. A visit to Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie is an opportunity to experience the Illinois of yesteryear, when prairies covered most of the state. Students will discover this diverse ecosystem with a variety of environmental education and natural history programs.
