Watchung Stable

 
The horse is the official animal of the State of NJ, and Watchung Stable, located in the scenic Watchung Reservation, offers schools, scouts and other groups the opportunity to “Learn about Horses” first hand. Groups age 9 and up can enjoy horse riding at the stable. Inquire about lead-line horse rides, led by adults in the visiting group, which are available for children under age 9, for an additional fee – based on availability.

SCHOOLS 
Tours of the barn at Watchung Stable includes a barn and facility tour to see dozens of horses. Students will learn how to properly care for the horse, parts of the horse, how to groom and tack, what horses eat and day-to-day basic care. Learn more

Junior Girl Scouts can work on Horse Fan badges at Watchung Stable. Programs allow scouts to tour the barn, see the horses, and more.
