Argia Mystic Cruises

Sail aboard the 19th Century sailing ship, ARGIA, as your group discovers marine life and learns about Mystic, Connecticut’s historic coastline. Argia Mystic Cruises offers marine science expeditions with experienced instructors who will teach groups about oceanography, coastal ecology, chemistry and physics. The cruise features hands-on activities that allow groups to use scientific instruments to test water for salinity, haul in a trawl net of marine life, observe birds on the salt marshes, and examine tiny organisms. Groups will also learn about the environmental factors that affect sea creatures, food chains, fish industries, the geology of the Long Island Sound, and the life of a 19th century sailor. Rate for a 2½ hour trip is $525.
