Argia Mystic Cruises

 
Set sail aboard the traditional sailing ship, ARGIA; discover and handle marine life; and learn about Mystic, Connecticut’s historic coastline. Argia Mystic Cruises offers marine science expeditions with experienced instructors who will teach groups about oceanography, coastal ecology, chemistry, and physics. We offer a special rate of $525 to schools and camps on weekdays from the beginning of our season through the end of May (excluding Memorial Day), and after Labor Day until the end of our season.

SCHOOL
The cruise features hands-on activities that allow groups to use scientific instruments, haul in a trawl net of marine life, observe birds on the salt marshes, and examine tiny organisms. Groups will also learn about the environmental factors that affect sea creatures, food chains, and fish industries. Other topics include the geology of Long Island Sound, and what life was like for 19th century sailors.
