Urban Forestry Center

Established in 1976, the Urban Forestry Center covers 182 acres of fields, forest, and salt marsh; and several buildings. The Center is used as a Tree Farm to demonstrate proper forest management, a bird and wildlife sanctuary, a garden and landscape demonstration site, and as a learning center offering information and programming in community forestry planning, forest management, ecology, tree and plant identification, and wildlife stewardship. Whether groups are interested in learning about identifying animal tracks in the snow, learning about shrubs and trees, or just interested in becoming better stewards of the land, the Urban Forestry Center has something for them.
