Historic Prude Ranch
Located in far West Texas in the heart of the beautiful Davis Mountains, Prude Ranch programs are designed for students to have an opportunity to learn first hand more about the world in which we live, and to observe, study and experience the wonders of nature. Program Highlights include: Challenge Course; Hiking, Birding, Nature Trails; Horse and Ranch Animals, Western Entertainment, Guided Trail Rides, Climbing/Rappelling Wall, Indoor Swimming Pool, Indoor and Outdoor Classrooms and more. For Overnight programs you can include a day trip of Rafting the Rio Grande, Hiking Big Bend National Park, Swimming at San Solomon Springs or Exploring Carlsbad Caverns. Areas of study to reinforce curriculum learning include: Astronomy, Entomology, Mapping and Orienteering, Horsemanship, Wildlife, Geology, Native Plants and their Uses, Reptiles and Amphibians, Chihuahuan Desert Ecosystem, History of the Vaquero and Native Americans of Texas. Accommodations include bunk houses and hill side cabins. For over 100 years the Prude family has been dedicated to providing young people with life-long experiences at Historic Prude Ranch.

SUPPORTS TEXAS STATE CURRICULUM IN: Science/Environmental, Social Studies, Physical Education. SUPPORTS SCOUT BADGE ACTIVITIES IN: Science, Social Studies, Horseback Riding, Sports and Games.
